this month, I thought I would
be a little self-indulgent and
talk about my new release. Yes,
It is finally available. Featuring
two novels in one volume.
Seven Day Fool, and Take It Or
Leave It are the first two novels
that feature the protagonist
Jake Brody - Private Spy. I have
been a long time fan of spy
thrillers, detective stories and
general Pulp Fiction. When I wrote
Seven Day Fool back in 2018, I drew upon my own knowledge
of Manchester, and although I was born in 69, I was able
to draw upon information from family members and my own
interest in the Mod scene of the 1960s. It helped me shape
the story, the locations, the style, the music. For although the
tales is a complete fiction, I wanted elements that were based
on real events. All the gigs in the club's in the tale actually
did happen, and some of the characters are based on very real
people, (although in some cases, their names have been changed.)
Jake, however is a complete fabrication, and a character that I have
enjoyed creating. In SDF he isn't quite fully formed, however by the
end of Take It Or Leave It there is a much clearer idea of Jake's
character. The next Jake Brody novel will reveal a much more experienced
Spy. One, who has now become more used to the world he has found himsel
immersed in. Reach Out of The Darkness will be on a grander scale than these
two thrillers. I consider these tales to be separate courses in a fine meal. Hopefully by the
